Volunteering at school

Parnell District School appreciates the support of our community in helping us to provide additional services to our students. Below are opportunities to support the school by donating time to support school programmes.

Road Patrol
We have amazing student road patrollers either in the morning from 8:30-9am or after school from 3-3:15pm. If you are able to support our students in supervising patrol on either St. Stephens Ave or Gladstone Road, please email office@parnell.school.nz.

Parnell Readers
Reading fluency is one of the most important skills a student will develop. We have amazing parents (and grandparents) who meet in the library before school on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for children to get extra opportunities to read aloud. If you are able to join the programme and listen to children read, please email office@parnell.school.nz.

Garden club
We have beautiful grounds at Parnell District School. Our vegetable gardens are especially important to us, as our produce is donated to the Auckland City Mission. If you are able to help care for our gardens or work with groups of students in the garden, please email office@parnell.school.nz.

In class help
Our class teachers love having parents join them in class and supporting our students. If you would like to help in class, please email or talk to your class teacher about how you might be of use.

PTA
Our PTA are a fun and hardworking group who provide amazing resources for our school. In recent years they have donated a new junior playground, all weather sports turf, and play equipment for our school. If you are able to find time to support our PTA, please email office@parnell.school.nz.
